Silk & Knot Events
The understanding

Terms of use

Last updated 3 July 2026

These terms cover your use of the Silk & Knot Events website. We have kept them plain and short, so they read the way we would say them to you. By using this site, we ask that you follow them. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

Who we are

We are Silk & Knot Events, a luxury wedding and event planning studio based in Abuja, Nigeria. This website is ours.

We are the ones responsible for any personal data you share with us through this site. If you would like to reach us about anything on this page, please write to us at begin@silkandknotevents.com or call us on +234 903 842 0071.

This site is here to inform

The purpose of this website is to describe our studio and to show some of the celebrations we have planned. It is a place to get to know us and to begin a conversation.

Nothing on this site is a binding offer, a quote, or a contract. Any figures or budget bands you see are there only to give you a sense of range. A real quote comes later, when we know more about your celebration, and it will be shaped by what you are planning.

Enquiries and working together

When you send us an enquiry through Begin, our enquiry page, you are inviting us to be in touch. That is all it is, and it is a lovely place to start.

Sending an enquiry does not create a booking, and it does not create a contract between us. We take on a celebration only once we have a separate written agreement in place, one that sets out clearly what we will do and what we have agreed together.

Our content, and how you may use it

Everything on this site is our work: the words, the photography, the film, the Silk & Knot name, our logo and marks, and the overall design. It belongs to the studio, or it is used here with permission.

The photographs and films of real celebrations are shown with the clients' consent. They remain the rights of the studio and of the photographers who made them.

Please do not copy, reproduce, republish, or reuse any of it without our written permission.

If you are a client and you would prefer a photograph or film of your celebration taken down from this site, just write to us and we will take it down.

Using the site fairly

We ask that you use this site lawfully and with a little care.

  • Please do not try to disrupt the site, harvest its content in bulk, or gain unauthorised access to any part of it.
  • Please do not submit other people's personal data through the form without their permission.
  • Please do not use the form to send spam, or anything unlawful.

Links to other sites

Now and then we link out to other places, for example our Instagram or a press feature that has kindly written about us.

Those sites are not ours, and we are not responsible for their content or their policies. Once you leave our site, their terms apply, not ours.

Availability, and no warranty

We provide this site as it is. We look after it with care, but we cannot promise that it will always be available, or entirely free of errors.

The general information here is offered in good faith, but it is not professional advice for your particular circumstances. For anything specific to your celebration, please speak with us directly.

None of this affects any protection the law gives you that cannot be set aside.

Where our responsibility ends

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any indirect or knock-on loss, or for any loss you could not reasonably have expected, that comes from using this site or from not being able to use it.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. Where the law says a responsibility must stand, it stands, and these terms do not touch it.

Your privacy

When you send us an enquiry, you share some personal details with us: your name, your email, and what you tell us about your celebration. We use these only to reply to you and to talk about working together. Our lawful basis is your consent in sending the enquiry, and our taking steps at your request before any engagement, which is also our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.

Your enquiry reaches us by email through a delivery service called Resend, and our site is hosted by Vercel; each holds data on our behalf under its own safeguards. To keep the form free of spam, your IP address is checked for a moment as you submit, and where this is set up it uses a hosted store called Upstash; that address is not kept as part of your enquiry. We do not keep your enquiry in any database, and we do not use it for advertising.

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, overseen by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, you have rights over your data. These include being informed, seeing your data, correcting it, having it deleted, objecting to or restricting how we use it, asking for it in a portable form, and withdrawing your consent at any time. To do any of these, write to us at privacy@silkandknotevents.com. Our fuller Privacy notice sits alongside these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, the current version is the one that applies, and continuing to use the site means you accept it.

The date at the top of this page tells you when we last revised it, so it is worth a glance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If anything ever needs to be settled in court, that would be done in the courts of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Come and say hello

If any of this leaves you unsure, or you simply have a question, we would be glad to hear from you. Write to us at begin@silkandknotevents.com, and we will be in touch.
